CE3C, the Illingworth Kerr Gallery, MADT, and VPRA present a
DIGITAL ALBERTA ‘Digital Cultures’ Event
“electronic music in the purest sense” – serial consign 2009
On November 29, 2010, CE3C, MADT and the Illingworth Kerr Gallery (IKG) are proud to present the first event in Digital Alberta’s DigitalCultures Series: DigitalCultures001 – A Night of Digital Art and Culture.
The evening begins with a digital showcase of 12 Calgary-based artists and cultural producers (from 6-8pm):
Martha Affleck, Caitlind Brown, Greg Debicki + Jennifer Vallis, Luba Diduch, Nathan Hansen, Kurtis Lesick, Kim Seung Pen, Paul Robert, Adam Tindale, Shiori Saito + Garrett Baumgartner
The main event is POWEr by a r t i f i c i e l (Alexandre Burton and Julien Roy, Montreal), a truly electrifying performance piece, from 8-9pm in the Stanford Perrott Theatre at ACAD.
Admission is FREE; there will be a cash bar.

About POWEr
Created at Mutek at Monument National (Montréal) in May 2009, POWEr is a performance based on high-voltage electromagnetic perturbations, by Alexandre Burton and Julien Roy. Using an audio-modulated Tesla coil as a live instrument, electrical arcs are generated and transformed in an ongoing, realtime audiovisual process. Electricity is used as a subtle yet intense material, manifested as an instrinsically synesthesic phenomenae.
