INFLUENCES

Gabriel Moreno - His use of line has really inspired me to work with line in a more interesting way other than just for shading or outlines.

- This really shows the kind of humour I like and try to involve somewhere in my art. I think humour is a big part of the way my art appeals to people.

Leonardo da Vinci - The way he fills his sketchbooks and really practices drawing the way he does has made my sketchbooks become not a work of art, like some people think they have to be, but more of a surface in which I practice by skills.

Sum of All Human Knowledge

Imagine a world in which every single person on the planet is given free access to the sum of all human knowledge – Jimmy Wales, Founder, Wikipedia.

Sum of All Human Knowledge is a mural piece based on the quote by Jimmy Wales shown above. Made of paper, paint and glue on a wooden wall, the mural is meant to encompass the meaning of the quote in a visual way. Our group worked together to create the desktop images and brainstorm the way in which it would all be set up on the wall.

RollerCoaster

“We struggle through the roller coaster that is life, conflicted and panic and unease, constantly at our heels at all times, trying to find a balance that is ever out of reach.”

“Our interpretation of the poem was that our lives are sometimes can sometimes be chaotic and full of noise that we are trying to sort through and make sense of. This can be trying at times, and sometimes we are not successful.

-Andreas, Kelsey, Jason and Ning”

We decided to take lines from the poem and translate them through using emotional expression, different settings and actions in the film. What we took from the poem was a dark emotional roller coaster, enjoy!

Group 1′s performance was based on Group 3′s video. We incorporated the idea of reversing things and making sounds, to make a kind of rhythmic chant that expressed these ideas; e.g. raet, made a sound when repeated, but it is also ‘tear’ backwards.
