Trents Influences

I’m mainly influenced by music and stories. I enjoy many different styles of music, but I tend to prefer hard rock, metal, and electronic music. Many of my favorite bands are melodic heavy metal bands such as In Flames. I started off listening to punk when I was in mid school, then I got into Metallica – which was the band that inspired me to pick up a guitar. From there I just continued to listen to heavier and heavier music, and then I branched out and started listening to everything.

Some of my favorite bands:

Pantera, Soilwork, Gypsy Kings, Devildriver, At The Drive-In, All That Remains, In Flames, Metallica, Sum 41, Killswitch Engage, Sybreed, The Strokes, Flight Of The Conchords, Arch Enemy, And many other random songs that I stumble upon

John Murphy is another artist who inspires me – he’s a music composer for films like 28 days later, Sunshine, Kickass, Lock stock and two smoking barrels, and many others. Here are some of his tunes. I never really thought about making music for films until I watched 28 days later and sunshine.

Furthermore, I’m inspired by video games – because not only are they addicting to play but some of them have really neat environments, characters, and stories.

Some games I like are:

Devil may cry 3, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Resident Evil 4, Medievil, Spyro series, Crash Bandicoot series, Left 4 Dead 2, Hitman series      …..And tons more

I also get spontaneous inspiration to write. I can remember writing stuff on my computer when I was a kid, completely random, absurd, hilarious short stories. Real life is usually so boring that I spend a lot of my time just zoning off and thinking about other stories and places.

I tend to be inspired by either dark, creepy art, or really light beautiful art. I’m really attracted to both ends of the spectrum.
