Bio:
From Calgary, lived here pretty much all my life except for after high school when I moved to Vancouver and attended VFS (Vancouver Film School). Took up acting, it was really exciting, scary, and fun but I ultimately decided it wasn’t what I wanted to do for a living. I suggested the possibility of going to music school but my parents wouldn’t have any of it so I finally decided to try out ACAD. In terms of visual arts I’m still unsure where I want to go. I enjoy stuff like video games, character design, story, books, movies…etc. I hate anything 3d that you have to make with your hands, I’m mainly a 2D guy – like illustration and drawing and all that. I hate abstract art – most of it’s garbage in my eyes. I just want to be entertained, I don’t want to have to dissect art and analyze it. I want to create stuff that has more accessible entertainment value, not some toilet turned upside down in a gallery that symbolises the demise of man or some shit. If I can get anything at all out of this school I hope that it’ll be something along the lines of concept artist & character design for video game/film companies, or something with audio, and music. I also eventually want to write novels and possibly start up a comic book series somewhere down the line.
Music is my main love, I play guitar and bass. I love writing beautiful accoustic songs and I also love writing blaring death metal songs. I usually practice metal because not only is it a rush for me, but it’s hard as fuck to play some of the stuff – between the 200+ bpm downpicking and the fast leads. Recently I’m learning how to make trance and house music on a program called Reason 5, I’d like to make electronic albums that could be suited for clubs one day. I am currently trying to figure out how to use professional recording programs on my computer in order to make solo albums that I want to release. Unfortunately I suck at computer programs (and technology in general) so it’s a steep learning curve for me. I wanna release solo albums (ranging from accoustic instrumentals to trance to rock to metal), and eventually get a band together that tours.My goal is to be apart of a successful band that can tour the world and give people a good rockin time (or a good headbanging time). Another one of my main goals is to write musical scores and soundtracks for video games and films.
