I’m currently a first year student at ACAD, who will one day move into 3D modeling/animation at a big name game studio such as Valve or NCSOFT. Video games and art have always been two of my favorite hobbies. When I was young, I decided that being an artist working at a video game studio couldn’t be a better fit for me as far as a career goes. When I first started to tell people that I wanted to go to ACAD I generally got two reactions: laughter and shock. The laughter came from some of my friends who are all going into engineering, architecture, neurobiology etc. and thought that art school was a joke. The shock came from a surprising number of people who apparently don’t know the difference between ACAD and AADAC, and all now think I’m going to rehab. I chose not to tell some select people they’re different, and now it’s great whenever I bump into them somewhere.
I was born in Calgary, and have lived here my entire life. I’m a very well traveled person however, and often journey from the desolate plains of Saskatchewan, all the way to the exotic forests of British Colombia, with the occasional holiday somewhere thrown in.
