I’m Faya,
As you may now know,
and most of you don’t know anything past that. And maybe you’re lucky, maybe not. It’s pronounced Faw-yeah. Not whatever way you’re saying it. I love video games, technology, and art. I express everything in my art work. I’m am indeed, the most bad ass nerd you will ever meet in your life. I continuously go to concerts and then go home to game or draw. I read comic books while listening to Death Metal, I mean, c’mon buddy. For those that don’t know me, I swear like a one eyed carpenter, accept it. My first gaming console ever was a Play Station. I, to this day, still play it. My favorite games, comics, TV shows and Movies consist of Mass Effect, Crash Bandicoot and Portal (Bioware, Naughty Dog, Valve), Aeon Flux, Tank Girl and Elektra (Peter Chung, Jamie Hewlett and Alan Martin, Frank Miller), Family guy, Big Bang Theory and Doctor Who (Seth MacFarlane, Chuck Lorree and Bill Prady, Sydney Newman) Pan’s Labyrinth, and Wall-E (Guillermo Del Toro, Pixar). My horizon of music is highly expanded. I listen to everything and anything in different languages as well, from Acid Jazz to Death Metal, and Alternative rock to Folk. Bands from I Set My Friends On Fire to All Time Low to And Then There Were None to Allele to VersaEmerge to In This Moment. I have too many favorite bands to name but the ones mentioned are on my top list.
I’m in an art school (Alberta College of Art and Design) because I want to be a technical artist for a major video game company (Bethesda, Bioware, Naughty Dog…). For those morons that don’t know what a technical artist is, it is the character artist. My artistry began at a young age when I experienced the world of Anime. I drew the characters and enhanced their detailing. Eventually I grew to have my own style which is anything really. Mostly realism mixed with fantasy or something gruesome. Humans with magical powers or a guy ripping his own face off. It varies. My influences aren’t people exactly. More so my surroundings or actions that are happening at the moment. There are artist that I absolutely adore like Audry Kawasaki and Alex Pardee. I’m also an animator and video editor. I enjoy to animate things but I generally get frustrated and yell at my computer. I have had an unusual life. An enormous amount of unpleasant events continues to happen, and creates a blockade to my path of happiness.The most recent unpleasantry was being hit by a car when crossing the street. Luckily the only damage was done to my right knee. Mostly scrapes and bruises here and there which are now BATTLE SCARS!! AWEHHH YEAH!
I am the only artist in the family. And my family is huge. For all those that have never been friends with a middle eastern person, that’s a lot. I have 20 cousins in Calgary alone, if that paints a picture.
I make silly faces, and I have a weird sense of humor. I’m a klutz. I won’t deny it. I have loads of rude moments, honestly I’m probably more of a guy than you are and not the girl you want to bring home to mom.
