Ally’s Portfolio

The first of two ‘steampunk/dieselpunk’ style electric guitars I’ve made.
It started out as a cheap Jay Turser solid body electric which I chopped and modified using materials salvaged from abandoned & demolished farmsteads in the Southern Alberta area.

Like the first guitar, this First Act solid body electric is done in the ‘steampunk/dieselpunk’ style as well with- again- materials from farms in the Southern Alberta area.

  1. Heya Ally,

Fuck yeah, those guitars are wicked. Love the steam punk and love the axes. Amazing job! I would kill to have one. Are they playable?

    • Haha, thanks. Damn things took me forever to make. Unfortunately i kinda butchered the wiring on the pickups in the process, so they don’t work. I want to get some ‘new’ used hardware for them, though, and see if i can’t make ‘em work.

  2. That is so badass. If you can get’em to work you could probably make a fortune selling stuff like that. Legit I’m sure people would want those. Soooo cooool (I mean I’m not even a huge steampunk fan or anything and they’re still AWESOME)

    • Thanks!
I’m not huge into steampunk, either, I just like the aesthetic. I’ve been trying to sell ‘em, but like you said, I need ‘em to work. Maybe it’ll be worth my while to try. *rubs hands together thoughtfully*
