The project focuses on learning through making, rapid prototyping, intense collaboration, problem solving and rapidly escalating expectations as a means of learning the computer vision, touch-based and interactive computational arts.

As a part of the 2010 Reel Artists Film Festival Calgary, this 4-day intensive workshop with Berlin-based digital artist, Mia Makela will give a good introduction to the practice of real-time audiovisual performances, recently coined as LIVE CINEMA. The workshop ends with a public performance.

PopSex! is an exhibition, academic conference + film series hosted by the University of Calgary and the Alberta College of Art + Design.

Using the Institute for Sexual Science (1919-1933) in Berlin as its starting point for discussion, PopSex! brings together artists, scholars, and students to examine the history of sexuality and its significance for pop culture in the past and today.
