ACAD and the Calgary Philharmonic will be partnering on a new production in late November 2015 and we want YOU to work with us.

ACAD Media Arts students are invited to apply to contribute on one of two projects:

Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s “Seven Deadly Sins”

This odyssey of sin works its way across 7 cities in the continental US. Our production will replace those cities with Canadian locations putting a new spin on this 1930s critique of capitalism.

Students will produce stylized durational backdrops of the seven cities including Vancouver, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, and St. John’s which will be projected in HD behind the orchestra. Participants will receive a professional credit on a formal production and help earn a contribution to the Media Arts Fundraising Account to support student programmes.

To apply you must submit at least one jpeg image of a mock up of what your city back drop might look like. be creative; be innovative; be artistic. what would your city look like if it were greed, sloth, pride, gluttony, lust, envy or wrath? Send your jpeg to kurtis.lesick(at)acad.ca along with your expression of interest, why you should be selected, and what you have to offer the project no later than 5pm, MONDAY OCTOBER 5th. Questions?
